As January ramps up we are in full swing of new years resolutions and reestablishing routines. With with everyone setting goals and cleaning house it is easy to forget to be still. Don’t get me wrong
I am fully participating. My closets have been color coded, I started another round of Whole30, and purged my pantry- but stillness is something we often forget about adding to our to do list. Weather that means self care or spending time with God. Stillness is something that I have added to my list in 2019. Some days that will mean sitting down with my Bible and others it will be sipping coffee and putting on a face mask.
Here are a couple of my favorite verses about being still.
For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.
The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.
Teach me, and I will be silent; make me understand how I have gone astray.
But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me.
And the effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever.
